Job Description

We are looking for a Senior IBM Cognos Developer and Administrator with strong hands-on experience in Cognos development, reporting, administration, and platform support. The ideal candidate must have strong healthcare or Medicaid domain experience, preferably working with large healthcare organizations, Medicaid programs, or government healthcare systems.

The candidate should be capable of handling both Cognos development and administration responsibilities, including report development, dashboard creation, performance tuning, security, deployments, and platform maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain IBM Cognos reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions.

  • Perform Cognos administration, configuration, installation, upgrades, and ongoing platform maintenance.

  • Manage Cognos environments, including development, QA, and production.

  • Develop complex reports using Report Studio, Query Studio, Framework Manager, and Cognos Analytics.

  • Build and maintain data models, packages, and reporting frameworks.

  • Perform report optimization, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

  • Manage user access, security, roles, permissions, and authentication.

  • Support report deployments, scheduling, batch processing, and production issues.

  • Work with healthcare and Medicaid data, reporting requirements, and business stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with data engineering, database, and application teams to deliver reliable reporting solutions.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM Cognos Analytics development and administration.

  • Experience with Cognos Report Studio, Framework Manager, Query Studio, and dashboards.

  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.

  • Experience with Cognos security, configuration, scheduling, deployments, and performance tuning.

  • Experience managing Cognos environments and production support.

  • Strong healthcare or Medicaid domain experience.

Healthcare / Medicaid Experience

  • Experience working with healthcare claims, enrollment, eligibility, provider, and member data.

  • Understanding of Medicaid programs, healthcare operations, and reporting requirements.

  • Experience developing reports for healthcare operations, financial reporting, compliance, or government programs.

  • Knowledge of healthcare data standards and regulatory reporting is a plus.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs).

  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid claims processing.

  • Experience with data warehouses and ETL processes.

  • Experience with Cognos upgrades and migration projects.

  • Experience working with large-scale healthcare reporting environments.

Candidate Profile

  • Strong combination of Cognos development and administration skills.

  • Ability to independently handle technical development and platform administration.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

  • Experience supporting enterprise healthcare or government healthcare environments.
